What is LASIK?

LASIK, commonly referred to as laser eye surgery or laser vision correction, is a type of refractive surgery for the correction of myopia, hyperopia, and an actual cure for astigmatism since it is in the cornea. Laser-assisted in situ keratomileuses (LASIK) can be an alternative to glasses or contact lenses. During LASIK surgery, a special type of laser is used to precisely change the shape of the dome-shaped clear tissue at the front of your eye (cornea) to improve vision.

Do I qualify for LASIK?

• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have a stable vision prescription for at least one year
• Must be free of eye disease or other interfering vision conditions
• Must have a proper corneal thickness
• Good overall health
• Realistic expectations
• Full understanding of the potential risks
